Information technology tools that enable collaboration in teaching and learning environments are rapidly becoming the foundation for 21st-century learning ecosystem. Yet the path to making them available and using them successfully often contains a diverse set of challenges. Questions include who decides on which tools; how much support should be made available for their use; can they be integrated with the campus IT environment and infrastructure; what happens when policy compliance issues emerge; and can support keep up with the proliferation of options, especially those in the cloud. In this discussion, faculty and central IT providers will discuss and debate the agenda, the aspirations, and the means to develop the evolving learning ecosystem.
